Vacationing in Orlando Florida

By Chris Linch

Disneyland is a popular tourist attraction and one that opens every day. A visit can therefore be made at any time of the year, although some times are better than others. Consider avoiding busy times such as school and college holidays and long weekends, which can see large crowds visiting. It is preferable to visit at other times when the weather may be better and smaller crowds are in the park. This can make your day more enjoyable.

A major advantage of visiting at off-season times is that accommodation can found at cheaper prices. However be sure to check the program of special events planned at the theme park as accommodation prices can be raised during these. Generally it is considered that some of the best periods to visit are between early September to Mid December and the weeks just prior to Spring Break in March.

It is generally considered that the worst time to visit is during Spring break. The traffic approaching the resort can cause traffic jams and the huge crowds can make life difficult and you will spend a lot of time queuing. During the summer and Christmas holidays these problems can be almost as bad as many tourists visit the resort.

Visiting Disney World during summer is not such a good idea as the oppressive heat and humidity can make your trip much less pleasant. The large Christmas period crowds can also make for a less pleasant visit. During the months of May and September the 'love bug' insect can also prove to be very annoying if you visit the resort. As such the best time to visit is definitely the off-season periods.

Florida has weather which can be unpredictable at times and rain can happen at any time when you visit. This is not a problem as there are many indoor activities that can be enjoyed if the weather is not good. These include Epcot and also Universal Studios and these can be visited during bad weather as the outdoor rides will generally be closed down during bad storms.

The hurricane season in Florida lasts from June to November and if you are worried about this it pays to avoid a visit in these months. Whatever month you decide to visit Disney World always remember two things. Get to the park early as the queues are shorter and you will spend less time waiting and also get a layout map so you can see where the attractions are and the best way to get to them. Disney World is a wonderful resort and should provide you with a fantastic day of fun. - 30423
